Nathan and I had a very interesting first National Guard weekend together. Nathan and I were the company's two newest soldiers and we both and the same MOS. Nathan just got back to Oregon after his AIT training and was reporting for duty with the B 52's. I just reenlisted after being off the shore of Syria during the prior six months. I was on a Naval ship supporting the Iraq Norther No-Fly-Zone. I was a medic and the company did not have a billet for medic, so I magically became a 62J. That drill weekend we were alerted and told to pack up for war. One weekend my ass. It was 14 months for me and Nathan sacrificed his life 10 months into our part of the war. I was Nathan's battle-buddy and team leader. He took good care of me. I was one of the oldest and he the youngest in our platoon. I am sure Nathan is in heaven helping God build and repair bridges of the soul.
