SFC Michael L. Larkin passed away from injuries sustained in a motorcycle accident in Radcliff, KY.

SFC Michael L. Larkin attended basic training and advanced individual training at Fort Knox, Ky. He joined the active U.S. Army in 1989. His assignments included tours in Germany, Operation Joint Guard in Bosnia, Operation Able Sentry in Macedonia, Operation Iraqi Freedom II and Korea. He received the Army Commendation Medal with three Oak Leaf Clusters, Army Achievement Medal with two Oak Leaf Clusters, Good Conduct Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal, Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Korean Defense Service Medal, Armed Forces Service Medal, NCO Professional Development Ribbon, Army Service Ribbon, Overseas Service Ribbon, Army Reserve Component Overseas Training Ribbon and a NATO Medal. He was three weeks away from retiring from the Army and moving back to Oregon.

Survivors include wife, Mary Crain Larkin, of Radcliff; son, Anthony Michael Larkin and daughter, Brooklyn Rene Alexandria Larkin.
