SFC Aaron D. Sevey, age 48, of Colorado Springs, Colorado formerly of Hanover, Illinois died Saturday, January 8, 2011.

Aaron was a Sergeant First Class in the United States Army for almost twenty years. While serving in Operation Iraqi Freedom, Aaron was awarded the Bronze Star and the Purple Heart. He loved living in Colorado, enjoyed hunting and was an avid Pittsburgh Steelers Fan. Aaron also enjoyed working on anything mechanical and racing with his friends at the Cordova Drag way. Most of all, Aaron cherished spending time with his family and friends. Aaron was always there to lend a helping hand and give words of encouragement. He was awarded a Bronze Star while serving as an engineer with a Colorado National Guard unit helping to build dams and other structures.

“He loved the Army,” James Sevey said. “He was dedicated to it.”
